About DJ Politik
There are very few DJs in the industry today that can dauntlessly rock a high-energy mega club in Las Vegas or Miami and then orchestrate a tasteful, sophisticated soundtrack for an exclusive, celeb-studded affair the very next day.
Born and raised in Los Angeles, DJ Politik has quickly climbed atop a short list of open-format DJs called upon by elite nightclubs, luxury brands, and celebrities across the globe. He is known for his keen ability to integrate the perfect balance of hip-hop, house, rock, pop, nu-disco, indie dance & classic records into his sets. This unique ability has brought him recognition in the industry both in the U.S. and abroad.
“To me, music is a universal language. It’s so ambiguous and speaks to every person differently. The way you present it to your audience is just as important as the actual music. I keep my sets as clean and crisp as possible, all while keeping the art of DJing alive with scratches, doubles, loops, creative medleys, and strong mic presence.”
Politik’s laid-back and charming personality has made him a favorite within the nightlife community and club-goers worldwide. His ability to engage the audience and create an experience has evolved tremendously with years of tireless practice and international touring.
Surrounded by music since birth, his passion for the art was passed on to him by his mother, a recording artist in her native home of Ukraine. As a toddler, Politik would blast music around the house, fiddle with recording equipment, and record his favorite songs from the radio with a tape recorder. But the desire to pursue a career in the field came from a keen interest in 90’s hip-hop, leading an unusually young Politik to sneak into nightclubs before his junior year of high school.
“When I started hitting the clubs, I was just a kid and had only seen DJs on MTV in my favorite hip-hop videos. Being on the scene opened my eyes to what DJs really do. Seeing them incorporating different genres of music while controlling the vibe of the party made me fall in love with DJing.”
Sparked by this newfound calling at the age of 15, Politik bought DJ equipment and began diversifying his musical repertoire. First came the high school parties, then came the small club gigs, and before he knew it, he landed himself a residency at then brand new Playhouse Nightclub in Hollywood.
Currently Politik holds residencies in each of the country’s hottest nightlife destinations including TAO (Las Vegas), LIV (Miami), Marquee (NYC), Finale (NYC), Studio Paris (Chicago), Playhouse (Hollywood), Sound (Hollywood), and The Borgata (Atlantic City).
Consistently providing sounds for top names in entertainment, fashion, and publishing, some recent events include private bashes for Usher, Nicole Richie, and P. Diddy, as well as private soirees with Audi, Microsoft, Coca-A-Cola, Red Bull, BlackBerry, Hennessy, Don Julio, Details Magazine, LA Confidential, Dolce & Gabana, and Armani Exchange.
